Duke Energy posted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.3 on revenues of $7.13B. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted an EPS of $1.34 for revenue of $5.69B.
Duke Energy shares have increased 6% since the start of the year but are still down 4.31% from their 52-week high of $116.33 on April 21. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 13.49% from the start of the year.

Duke Energy reports on NextEra Energy’s earnings beat of April 21. NextEra reported EPS at $0.74 per share on revenue $2.89B. This compares to NextEra Energy’s forecasts of EPS at $0.7142, on revenue $5.19B.
Southern beat all expectations with a first quarter earnings per share of $0.97 on $6.65B in revenue, as opposed to $0.9069 for $6B revenue.
