OAKLAND (Calif.) – Online dating apps Match Group Inc (NASDAQ) sued Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ) Inc on Monday. They called the action a “last resort to stop Tinder and other apps being removed from the Play Store for refusing share as much as 30% of their sales.
Match is the latest lawsuit to be filed against Google for allegedly engaging in anticompetitive behavior with its Play store. It joins ongoing suits brought by Epic Games and dozens more U.S. State Attorneys General.
Google immediately responded to my request for comment regarding the filing. Google has stated that developers can bypass the Play Store and has reduced fees as well as created programs to deal with antitrust concerns.
