KYIV, Reuters – We will all do our best to help Russian President Vladimir Putin win the war in Ukraine. This includes keeping Moscow under sanctions for many years. Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister, stated late Sunday that this was what we are doing.
Trudeau stated to Reuters, “What Putin should understand is that West is completely determined and determined to stand against him,” in an interview.
We will all do everything as a planet to ensure that he loses because of his illegal wars, his escalations and his decision to invade Ukraine further.
Trudeau stated that Putin has made a horrible mistake while speaking on the sidelines to a visit to Ukraine by President Volodymyr Zilenskiy. Trudeau was speaking at the expense of his unannounced trip.
He is inflicting atrocities on civilians because he believed he could win. Trudeau stated that Putin can only win when he was asked about his plans to tell Putin during Russia’s celebrations of World War Two. This is what Moscow refers to as the Great Patriotic War 1941-45.
Europe celebrated the 77th Anniversary of the Nazis’ surrender on Sunday. Russia celebrated the May 9 victory. At 11:01 pm on May 8, 1945 (which was also May 9 in Moscow), Nazi Germany gave up unconditionally.
Trudeau also agreed with a Group of Seven statement that was issued on Sunday following video calls of G7 leaders. It concerned how Putin’s actions were “shameful on Russia and its historic sacrifices of their people” during World War Two.
Trudeau stated, “Quite honestly, Victory in Europe Day is when we celebrate the victory against fascism so many decades back.” “Vladimir Putin brings shame on the memory of millions of Russians that fought and died in freedom and in the struggle to fight against fascism.”
Putin will lead the commemoration celebrations. Since 1999 Putin is Russia’s most powerful leader.
Trudeau earlier stated that Canada would provide Ukraine with new weapons and equipment and that it will also reopen the embassy in Kyiv.
Putin claims that he ordered a special military operation to dearm Ukraine on February 24th. This was in response to anti-Russian nationalism being fomented by Western countries. According to Ukraine and its allies, Russia started an unprovoked conflict.
Trudeau stated that all countries that have placed sanctions against Moscow have made a significant impact on Russia’s economy and are keen to maintain them for as long as possible, possibly even years.
He stated that Vladimir Putin could not upend 70 years of stability, growth, and prosperity in the world. However, he did say that he expected to continue to enjoy those stability growth and prosper.
