SEATTLE (Reuters) – Boeing (NYSE:) Co announced Tuesday that it delivered 28 of its single-aisle 737 MAX cash cow jets to customers in April. This demonstrates its ability to seize on air travel’s rebound, even though the U.S. planemaker is fighting regulatory and industrial hurdles throughout its aircraft portfolio.

Boeing delivered five 737 MAX aircraft to its customers. They were all for Ryanair, an Irish budget airline. United Parcel Boeing announced that Service (NYSE) took its final hump-backed 7477-8, and Thai Airways took three of the 777-300ER aircraft.

It delivered 35 total aircraft in April, a decrease from March’s 41 deliveries. However, it was more than twice as many as the 17 that were handed off in March.

Boeing is struggling to fix production problems that have delayed deliveries of its 787 Dreamliner for over a year and certification risks with its upcoming 737 MAX 10 (777X) jets. This closely-watched monthly snapshot shows orders and delivery.

Boeing was able to get relief from its woes regarding core widebody programs when Lufthansa announced that it will purchase 10 cargo planes, seven including the 777X, which is also called 777-8F.

In compensation for delayed deliveries of the Boeing 787 passenger version, the airline also increased its Boeing 787 order.

Boeing received 46 orders for April from unidentified customers and leasing companies, including 44 for the 737 MAX, as well as two 777 freighters.

Orders for April were cancelled after 34 cancellations. AerCap had scrapped two 787-10 aircraft and buyers exchanged jet models.

Boeing had 213 gross orders for the year to April. This is 157 less after conversions and cancellations. Boeing has so far recorded 98 net sales after accounting adjustments.

Boeing reported that overall, Boeing’s order backlog grew to 4,218, up from 4,176.
