FIFA’s video game will soon disappear after its maker failed in a licensing deal with the governing body of world soccer.

EA Sports FC, however, will debut in 2023 when the company completes its final game with FIFA.

EA produces FIFA games for over 30 years. The company’s close association with FIFA fans around the world helped to protect its brand in 2015, when it was damaged by a series of arrests made by soccer officials.

FIFA is often referred to as a sport and not a political institution. FIFA now has to look for other video gaming options beyond EA.

Andrew Wilson, EA CEO, stated that “We are grateful for the many years of our great partnership with FIFA.” The future of international football looks bright and the fandom has never been greater. EA SPORTS FC has an extraordinary opportunity to become the center of this sport and provide authentic, innovative experiences for the expanding football fanbase.
