ATHENS, (Reuters) – In April, Greece saw 10.2% annual consumer inflation. This was due to rising costs of energy, food, and transportation, according to official data released Tuesday.

According to statistics agency ELSTAT., price growth reached 8.9% in March.

Inflation in Greece, which is EU-harmonised, rose sharply in April to 9.1% from 8.0% in March.

EU-harmonised inflation is an index that uses the same components across Europe to measure inflation consistent.

According to ELSTAT, prices rose by 122.6% per year, and electricity prices went up by 88.8%.

According to data, housing costs rose by 35.2% in the past year, while transportation costs increased 15.4%. Foods and beverages were 10.9% more costly.
