(Reuters] -U.S. President Joe Biden is going to show how Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has impacted food prices worldwide during a Wednesday farm visit in Illinois.

According to the White House, he will announce additional measures to help U.S. farm workers, such as increasing eligibility for double-cropping insurance for more counties and increasing funding for fertilizer production domestically.

Biden struggles to contain inflation at many levels. U.S. gas prices hit new records on Tuesday. Russia’s invading of Ukraine, which Moscow called “a special army operation,” dramatically worsened prospects for food prices.

Russia and Ukraine make up nearly one third of world wheat and barley production, as well as two-thirds each of the global sunflower oil exports used in cooking.

Biden is “going to talk about the support we need to continue to give to farmers to help continue to produce more and more domestically to help address the food shortages that we’re seeing in some parts of the world,” White House spokesperson Jen Psaki said on Tuesday.

Biden will be speaking at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers International Convention. Psaki stated that Biden will be reaffirming his support for the unions and infrastructure investments, as well as for the energy sector.
