Disney (DIS) fiscal Q2 2022 earnings

All eyes will be focused on Disney’sWhen the company announces its fiscal second-quarter earnings results, streaming numbers are available.

After NetflixPosted subscriber losses during its most recent quarterIn order to predict more subscribers dropping off in the future investors are interested in learning how Disney+’s streaming platforms perform.

According to StreetAccount, analysts expect that the company will add around 5,000,000 new Disney+ subscribers between January and March. This brings the total user count to 135,000,000.

Analysts expect the following:

  • Earnings per share: $1.19 expected, according to a Refinitiv survey of analysts
  • Revenue: $20.02 billion expected, according to Refinitiv
  • Total Disney+ subscriptions 135 million expected, according to StreetAccount

Disney shares have plunged by 30% and 40% since January, respectively. Investors are now speculating about whether the streaming company will be able to sustain its growth. They also wonder how inflation might impact other ventures.

While revenue from Disney’s parks has seen a significant increase in the last quarter, international visitors have yet to return in large numbers. This quarter will also reflect new attractions like the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. It gives shareholders an insight into how much demand there is for immersive Disney experiences.

Also, shareholders will want to hear CEO Bob Chapek speak about the ongoing political issues facing Florida. which may affect Walt Disney World operations next year.

Its box-office performance will not be as strong since it did not have any major theatrical releases during January and March. This segment will however see significant gains during the remainder of fiscal 2022 as well as the first quarter 2023.

With strong box office numbers for “Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness”, “Lightyear”, Pixar’s next film, and “Thor: Love and Thunder” following it.
