Ruja “Cryptoqueen” Ignatova Becomes Europe’s Most Wanted

As Dr. Ruja Ignatova is again wanted by German police, the notorious Cryptoqueen, she has been placed on the most wanted European list.

For her role in OneCoin, the largest cryptocurrency fraud project ever launched, the 41-year old fugitive is being charged with money laundering and fraud.

Best know as the “Cryptoqueen”, Ruja Ignatova was one of the co-founders of OneCoin, a massive cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme which defrauded millions of investors worldwide of close to $16 billion.

Created in the early days of crypto back in 2014, OneCoin promised to be a “ killer” and part of the global payment revolution.

Ruja Ignatova toured the world promoting OneCoin. He invited investors to purchase education crypto trading courses and also earned commission for new investors.

The reality is far more disappointing than the claims. OneCoin didn’t have a blockchain to run on, making it impossible for the cryptocurrency to be traded and used to purchase goods as there wasn’t a payment system.

OneCoin had more than three millions members at the height of its activities.

Many countries began to suspect OneCoin was a multilevel marketing scheme (MLM), better known as a pyramid scheme in 2016.

As a wave of investigations arose worldwide, Ruja Ignatova mysteriously vanished, and the self-proclaimed “Cryptoqueen” has not been seen in public since October 2017.

U.S. Federal agents arrested Mark Scott, one of the OneCoin cofounders and Konstantin Ignatov (brother of Cryptoqueen), and charged them with wire fraud, securities fraud and money laundering.

With Europol’s decision to add Ruja Ignatova to Europe’s most wanted list, it seems that the global search for the Cryptoqueen is expanding. Individuals who have any information about the Cryptoqueen have been offered up to 5,000 EUR by law enforcement agencies.
