In the latest update of the rumors surrounding LUNA’s market collapse, all parties involved in the allegations have publicly denied any involvement. Citadel, BlackRock and Gemini are the companies at issue. After messages on Telegram and 4chan claiming that the companies were manipulating markets, there was a rumor mill.
Gemini denied these allegations publicly through their Twitter account (NYSE:).
A recent report suggested Gemini loaned 100K BTC large institutions to counter-parties. The loan allegedly led to a $LUNA sale. Gemini did not make such a loan.

BlackRock and Citadel also denied the claims. BlackRock Spokesperson Logan Kofflet said, “Rumors that BlackRock had a role in the collapse of UST are categorically false. In fact, BlackRock does not trade UST.” Similarly, a Citadel Spokesperson told a reliable source that, “Citadel Securities does not trade stablecoins, including UST.”
Crypto community members have dismissed the claims as hearsay at this time. Charles Hoskinson deleted the initial tweet containing allegations, claiming that Gemini had not been involved. In a similar fashion, founder Billy Markus made a joke about the absurdity and claimed that Gemini was not involved.

The rumors began days ago after the crypto market – especially LUNA – crashed in market value. These allegations were first made in a 4chan message that spread to Telegram and Twitter. More fuel was added to the fire when Charles Hoskinson – in a now-deleted tweet – shared the rumors with his Twitter followers.
