WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Mercedes-Benz USA said Thursday that it will recall 292,000 ML and GL Mercedes-Benz vehicles manufactured between 2006 and 2012 due to brake issues.

U.S. regulators stated that they shouldn’t be driven any further until the vehicle is inspected by a dealer.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall was voluntary by German automobilemaker because brake boosters could have corroded and can severely impact braking ability. This would increase the likelihood of an accident.

Owners are advised to not drive their cars until they have been inspected by a dealer.
