Investing.com — Friday’s price surged above $30,000 after what was supposed to be the worst week for four years.

The world’s most valuable crypto asset, the Bitfinex, was at $30,510 (0710 GMT) on Wednesday. On Thursday, it had fallen to $26,600. This was the lowest level since December 2020.

This was due to the decreasing concerns regarding, the largest stablecoin network in the world, which dropped more than 6% on Thursday, amid doubts about its backing.

Following assurances by Paolo Ardoino (its chief technology officer), Tether traded within a fraction of its 1:1 peg to the US dollar on Friday, when it was trading at a very low level. Ardoino indicated that short-dated commercial paper has seen its value drop in recent weeks. This is because it does have credit risk. The credit quality of the CP portion of the reserve was not disclosed by Ardoino.
