© Reuters India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.16%Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
NSE closed with the index declining 0.26% and the NSE fell by 0.16.
These were the best performers of the session Tata Motors Ltd (NS:), rose 8.60%, or 32.00 points, to close at 404.30. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS) gained 3.82%, or 32.50 point to close at 882.50 Mahindra & Mahindra Late trade saw a 2.80% increase in Ltd. (NS) or 24.25 point to 889.50
These were the worst performers of the session. Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS): fell 4.40%, or 17.85 point to trade at 388.00 by the close. JSW Steel Ltd (NS.) dropped 3.90% or 24,35 points to finish at 600.45. State Bank Of India, (NS.) was down 3.9% or 18,00 points to 444.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:) which rose 3.76% to 882.10, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was up 2.78% to settle at 888.95 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:) which gained 2.49% to close at 2,194.35.
State Bank Of India, which fell 3.76% at 445.05 late trade, ICICI Bank Ltd. (BO) that lost 2.65% at 677.45 to settle at 677.45 was the worst performer and NTPC Ltd. (BO) was at 2.56% at 144.80 by close.
On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 1276, 563, and 26 respectively. The Bombay Stock Exchange saw 2113 rise and 1111 fall, and 131 was unchanged.
The implied volatility index of the Nifty 50 options was lower by 3.21%, to 23.49
For June delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.48% (or 8.74%) to $1.815.86 per troy-ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose by 1.81%, or 1.92, to reach $108.05/barrel, and the July Brent Oil contract, which rose 1.81%, or 1.94, to trade at $109.39/barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.5% at 77.48 while EUR/INR rose by 0.09% at 80.43.
At 104.83, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.07%.
