United Airlines reaches new contract deal with pilots’ union -Breaking

(Reuters) – United Airlines Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) Inc Chief executive Scott Kirby (NYSE 🙂 announced Friday that the airline and its pilots union reached an in principle agreement on terms for new contracts.

Pre-market trading saw shares of American Airlines rise 2.4% to $42.50, after Chicago-based airline became the first major carrier to make such an agreement with pilots. Amendments to the agreement were possible in January 2019.

According to the statement by United Master Executive Council, the new agreement will be completed and made available for pilots of United.

Kirby posted on Instagram that United was the only airline who worked with pilots unions to come to an agreement in COVID.

Although the terms of this contract have not been disclosed by CNBC, it is expected to include higher salaries and other benefits.
