ZURICH (Reuters). Swiss voters backed proposals for global streaming TV services like Netflix Inc (NASDAQ) or Amazon (NASDAQ) to invest in domestic film-making.

Early projections of broadcaster SRF show that 58% of votes backed the proposal in one of the three national elections held this weekend under the Swiss system for direct democracy.

The binding referendum, which was called Lex Netflix, determined whether or not international streaming services should invest in Switzerland 4% of revenue.
