(Reuters) – Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard will be back on the witness stand Monday as part of a defamation case that includes graphic accusations of abuse and physical violence from both parties.

In the case, jurors listened to the explicit recordings of testimony and arguments by the couple about the severed finger and the feces found in bed. Also the alleged sexual assault using a bottle.

Depp (58) is now suing Heard (36) for $50 million. Heard claims that Depp defamed her when she said she was a domestic abuse victim. Heard has counter-sued, asking for $100m. He claims that Depp made her look bad by calling her an liar.

Heard claimed that he did not hit him, and that she had been the one who was abusive in their marriage. He said that Heard had thrown a vodka glass at Depp in early 2015.

Depp stated that in April 2016 feces could be found on the couple’s beds. Heard said that the feces had been left in his bed by one of his security officers as a joke.

Heard is best-known for her part in the movie “Aquaman.” Heard denied that Depp cut her finger. She said that she hit Depp to protect herself and her sister. She testified that Depp attacked her, inserting a bottle of liquor into her vagina and threatening to kill her.

Depp’s lawyers have yet to cross-examine Heard.

Heard’s December 2018 Washington Post opinion piece is the key to this legal case. Depp was not mentioned in the article, though his lawyer said that he was clearly referring to him. After less than two years, the couple filed for divorce in 2017.

Depp was once a Hollywood star and said that Heard’s accusations cost him everything. Depp was placed on notice and replaced with the new film “Pirates,” a spinoff of Harry Potter’s “Fantastic Beasts”.

Heard’s legal team argued she was truthful and that her opinion is protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Closing arguments have been scheduled for May 27,

Depp was libel accused in a case against The Sun. This British tabloid called him a “wife-beater” less than two years back. Heard was repeatedly assaulted by him, according to a London High Court judge.

Because the Washington Post is published in Fairfax County Virginia, Depp’s attorneys filed this case. The newspaper is not involved in the case.
