After Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ) joined other big employers to offer travel reimbursements for employees who need medical care abroad, shares of Starbucks Corporation fell 3.5% Monday in trading on Investing.com

Specifically, the company said “Regardless of where you live or what you believe, partners enrolled in Starbucks healthcare will now be offered reimbursement for eligible travel expenses when accessing abortion or gender-affirming procedures when those services are not available within 100 miles of a partner’s home. The benefit will be extended to spouses enrolled in Starbucks health care,” said Sara Kelly, Starbucks’ acting executive vice-president of Partner Resources.

Amazon.com Inc. recently (NASDAQ:) Apple Inc. Citigroup Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ;) and Inc. (NYSE:) created similar policies in response to the possibility that the Supreme Court would overturn the 1973 Roe-v. Wade decision, which ensured abortion access.

Starbucks employs 240,000 Americans, and some employees have been fighting with the company as they vote for unions in stores across the U.S.

Starbucks shares have fallen 37% so far in the year.
