(Reuters) – Netflix (NASDAQ) announced Tuesday that it had laid off approximately 150 employees, mainly in the United States. This was during a time of slower growth.

In its home market, the layoffs make up approximately 2%.

According to the company, “These changes are driven primarily by business needs and not individual performance. Which makes them particularly difficult because none of us wants to say goodbye so many great colleagues.” We are working to help them navigate this difficult transition.

Netflix announced its first subscriber loss in over a decade, and predicted further job losses for the next quarter. The company stated that customers were losing their trust due to fierce competition and the conflict in Ukraine.
