UK confirms plans to make changes to Northern Ireland protocol

Truss previously advised the U.K. that it would not be an option but to act if EU lawmakers fail to demonstrate the “requisite flexibility” over the protocol.

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said Tuesday that changes will be made to the Northern Ireland protocol by the government.

It is part the post-Brexit trade agreement, which mandates checks for some goods coming into Northern Ireland from the U.K.
