SAO PAULO (Reuters – Brazil’s central banks director Bruno Serra indicated Wednesday that he is hopeful that the country’s current interest rate rise cycle will end soon, but that it would still be dependent on data as bringing down inflation is a lengthy process.

Serra was the central bank’s chief monetary officer. He also stated that Brazil has the ability to raise rates “a bit more” when necessary, noting rising global rates.
