New York agency accuses Amazon of pregnancy and disability discrimination -Breaking

NEW YORK (Reuters), The New York State Division of Human Rights filed a complaint against Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:) alleging that the retailer discriminated against disabled and pregnant workers. Governor Kathy Hochul made this statement Wednesday.

Amazon employees were also charged with having unpaid absence policies, instead of reasonable accommodation.

Hochul stated in a statement that “my administration will hold any employer responsible”, regardless of their size, if they fail to treat workers with the dignity, respect, and worth it.

Amazon has not yet responded to my request for comment.

New York’s Amazon claims it has 23 locations with 39,000+ workers in the state.

Letitia James, the state attorney general of New York City has sued Seattle-based firm over their treatment of New York City workers.
