After a two-year coronavirus-induced hiatus which forced them to take the economic powwow online and lasted for over two years, some of the most famous, powerful, and wealthy are returning to Davos, Switzerland next week.

This year’s World Economic Forum will take place in May and not January. It looks like an entirely new prospect.

To begin with, all participants must have been vaccinated against Covid-19. To participate in the five-day event, participants must be tested prior to and following their arrival.

The organizers stated that almost 2,500 peopleDavos attendees are less than the 3,000 in January 2020.

If participants have had two doses plus one booster shot of any main vaccine against Covid (including China’s CoronaVac) they are fully vaccinated. Russia’s Sputnik vaccination is not included in the list.

The Russian Government has not included any Russian official, company or representative on this year’s attendees list the Kremlin’s decision to invade neighboring UkraineFebruar.

The World Economic Forum will focus on Russia’s invading of Ukraine. The audience was able to see President Vladimir Putin’s speech online in January 2021.

Russia’s aggression in Ukraine will be the focus of many discussions in the Swiss Alps. Business leaders and politicians are discussing how to manage a new global order, increased food prices, and rebuilding the Eastern European country.

“Davos has to be large enough for both the agendas to remain in focus: war in Europe, but also global economic crisis,” said Lord Mark Malloch Brownn (president of Open Society Foundations) Friday’s CNBC program “SquawkBox Europe.”

Furthermore, climate changeas well as the ongoing coronavirusPandemics will be one of the topics.

The weather will be the most striking addition to Davos this year.

Davos is traditionally held in winter against the backdrop snowcapped mountains. Temperatures as low as minus twenty degrees Celsius are also a part of its traditional timing.

This year, however, the edition should be sunny with spring-like temperatures of above 20 degrees Celsius.

Don’t forget your snow boots and sunscreen!
