JAKARTA (Reuters – Indonesia’s palm oil export ban will be lifted starting Monday, May 23rd due to improvements in domestic cooking oils supply, President Joko Widoso declared on Thursday.

According to a video release by the president, lifting the ban was decided despite the fact that bulk cooking oils have not reached the target 14,000 rupiah/litre price. The government also considers 17 million people employed in palm oil production.
