Jim Cramer’s list of four investable defense stocks


Jim Cramer of CNBC stated that Thursday’s CNBC interview was positive for the defense industry. He has four stocks in his mind that he thinks are worth investing.

“There is at least one major industry right now that is booming, and it will continue to boom regardless of the outcome with the others.” [Federal Reserve]Specifically, or the U.S. economy as a whole. “I’m referring to the defense industry which is on fire.” Mad Money

He later stated that the Russian invasion of Ukraine was a major game changer for defense industry and that you would have to be naive to not notice it.

Cramer has compiled a list of four defense stocks that can be invested.

  1. Raytheon
  2. Lockheed Martin
  3. AeroVironment
  4. Northrop Grumman

Cramer added that Cramer had also observed that iShares US Aerospace & Defense ETFThe Invesco Aerospace & Defense ETF have year-to-date declines of around 4% and 5%, respectively, while the S&P 500 has plunged around 18%.

This is only the start. The defense contractors will do well in the toughest tape for years. I believe they’ll be ready to rise when the market turns a bit more hostile. He stated.

He also stated that Europe and the United States will be looking to increase their defense spending. 

U.S. on Thursday passedCramer stated that the $40 billion package of security assistance for Ukraine will be used to replenish its military equipment stock and continue to provide aid to warring countries.

Recent launches of Finland’s and Sweden’s are highlighted bids to join NATOCramer predicts that both countries will need to raise their military expenditures.

“If Sweden and Finland do join, they’ll have to substantially boost their defense spending as part of their treaty obligations — but then again they’d probably do it anyway given that they live right next door to Russia,” he said.
