Russia to revive Moskvich brand using Chinese platform

The model will be manufactured at Kamaz. Renault Former Moscow factory.
According to Reuters, sources said that Kamaz had been in discussions with JAC (Chinese carmaker), about creating the brand using JAC’s design, engineering, and production platform. Kamaz and Moskvich did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
After Renault announced that it would be selling its major stake in Avtovaz, the French carmaker has made a surprising comeback with assets owned by Moscow.
Russian business newspaper Vedomosti first reported on Thursday the news. It cited a source who said that production would not begin until the fourth quarter this year.
