Amazon tests using Flex drivers to make mall deliveries

AmazonFlex driver contracts are being used by Flex to collect packages from retailers in malls. This allows the Flex drivers to be contracted to help sellers ship product from their stores via the delivery service.

Amazon has recently informed Flex drivers that it is testing new programs that allow workers to pick up packages from nearby retailers and deliver them directly at their customers’ doors, Amazon stated in an email notice that CNBC saw.

The notice states that Amazon Flex has launched a new type of offer. Retail delivery will let you pick up prepackaged orders from participating non-Amazon stores.

The notice was sent to drivers in Las Vegas and only includes orders placed at stores in Fashion Show Mall, a 2-million-square-foot shopping mall located on the Las Vegas Strip. It is unclear which stores will be participating in this test.

Amazon also tested the service in Chandler and Tysons Corner in Virginia according to BloombergThe first report on the program came from. Kudrna stated in a statement that “we have been delivering to third-party shops for many years.” This is yet another way that we can connect Amazon sellers and customers through convenient delivery options.

Amazon Flex is an in-house logistics unit that was established in 2015. Amazon Flex is a program that allows everyday drivers to transport packages using their personal vehicles.
