Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index rose 0.03% at the close of NYSE. It climbed 0.01% and fell 0.30%.

Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ.) was the best performer of the session, rising 2.92% or 1.22 point to close at 42.94. Meanwhile, Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE:) added 2.60% or 4.05 points to end at 159.65 and McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:) was up 2.14% or 4.91 points to 233.91 in late trade.

They were also the session’s worst performers Boeing Co (NYSE:) fell by 5.07%, or 6.44 points, to close at 120.70 Caterpillar Inc (NYSE.) fell 4.32%, or 8.94 points, to finish at 197.82. 3M Company was down 2.13% (or 3.13 points) to 143.83.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were VF Corporation (NYSE:) which rose 6.07% to 47.32, American Tower Corp (NYSE:) which was up 4.73% to settle at 244.28 and Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:) which gained 4.39% to close at 298.85.

These were the worst performers Ross Stores Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 22.47% to 71.87 in late trade, Deere & Company (NYSE:) which lost 14.07% to settle at 313.31 and Advance Auto Parts Inc (NYSE:), which fell 7.23% to 18.89 at the closing.

GeoVax Labs Inc, NASDAQ:), which rose 90.18% and 1.39 respectively was the top performer on the NASDAQ Composite. SIGA Technologies Inc (NASDAQ) was up 43.45% to settle at 12.40, and Redbox Entertainment Inc(NASDAQ:), which saw a 40.00% increase to close at 5.32.

These were the worst performers Athersys Inc (NASDAQ) was trading at 0.26, down 65.54% in late trade. Evofem Biosciences Inc(NASDAQ:), which fell 63.17% to settle to 0.41, had a 63.17% loss. Lixiang Education Holding Co Ltd (NASDAQ) was at close of business, down 51.81% compared to 2.

On the New York Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 1656, 1492, and 129. Likewise, on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange 2073 fell, 1669 advanced and 224 ended unaffected.

Ross Stores Inc. shares (NASDAQ:) plunged to 52 week lows. They fell 22.47 or 20.83 to 70.87. Shares in Deere & Company (NYSE:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 14.07% or 51.31 to 313.31. Advance Auto Parts Inc. (NYSE:), shares fell to 52 week lows, down 7.23%. This is a decrease of 14.18 to 181.89. Boeing Co (NYSE) shares dropped to 52 week lows, down 5.07% (6.44 to 122.70). Athersys Inc’s (NASDAQ:), shares fell 65.54%, or 0.50 to 0.26 to their lowest level in over a decade. SIGA Technologies Inc (NASDAQ) shares rose to five-year highs, gaining 43.5% or 3.75 up to 12.40. Evofem Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ:) shares fell to their lowest point ever, dropping 63.17% (0.69 to 0.41). Lixiang Education Holding Co Ltd (NASDAQ) lost 51.81%, or 2.15 to 2.00.

For June delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.12% to $1.843.44, or 2.24 a troy-ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil delivery for July increased 0.68%, or 0.75, to $110.64 per barrel. The July Brent oil contract rose 0.86 or 0.96, to trade at $113.00/barrel.

EUR/USD was steady at 0.2% to 1.06 while USD/JPY rose by 0.10%, to 127.93.

At 103.08, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.32%.
