Pentagon’s Kirby to take up senior White House communications role -Breaking

Alex Brandon/Pool via REUTERS(Reuters) – John Kirby, the Pentagon spokesperson (NYSE:), will be the White House’s National Security Council coordinator for Strategic Communications. The White House made this announcement in a Friday statement.
According to the White House, Kirby “will coordinate interagency efforts in explaining United States policy, and will be a senior administration voice regarding related matters, including at the White House podium.”
Kirby has been the spokesperson for Pentagon briefings, including the recent invasion of Ukraine. Kirby was previously with the State Department, and served as Pentagon Press Secretary to the former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.
