ABOARD AIR forCE ONE (Reuters – USA is seeking to increase its economic partnership and high-tech cooperation with Taiwan, U.S.National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated on Sunday while en route to Japan to meet President Joe Biden.

Biden will be making his first trip in Japan as an official since taking office. He will also participate at a summit for the “Quad” grouping countries. The agenda will include issues of regional security.

We don’t support unilateral changes in the status quo, and certainly not military aggression. And that message must come not only from us, but also from a wide range of allies, partners, and both within the region as well,” Sullivan stated to journalists aboard Air Force One.

“We want to increase our economic partnership and work with Taiwan on high tech issues such as supply chains, semiconductors, and other technology.”
