SAO PAULO, (Reuters) – The Brazilian Air Force decided to reduce its order for Embraer SA According to O Globo, a local newspaper on Monday, KB-390 military cargo aircrafts have been reduced to 15 from 22 before (NYSE:).

The report states that Lieutenant-Brigadier General Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior has stated that the Air Force will reduce its order because of budget uncertainty.

O Globo quotes him saying, “We cannot afford it in the immediate term.”

In November, the Air Force said it would unilaterally reduce its initial 28-aircraft order from 15 to 15. However Embraer reached an agreement to bring it down to 22 planes in February.

Embraer stated in a statement that 22 Brazilian Air Force aircraft were under contract. The Air Force didn’t immediately reply to our request for comment.
