NEW YORK (Reuters), New York City Police released surveillance photographs of a suspect involved in the shooting death of a 48 year-old man on Monday in a subway train. This apparently random attack occurred just two months after a massive shooting at the subway system.

In a tweet (NYSE:) New York Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell shared two images of the man believed to be the straphanger and asked for the public’s help in finding him.

Sewell stated, “We need to have all eyes focused on this.”

According to authorities, Daniel Enriquez (a Brooklyn resident) was on a train from Brooklyn crossing a bridge when he was gunned down in his chest.

Bellevue Hospital declared Enriquez deceased. According to authorities, the suspect ran when the train arrived at Canal Street Station.

This attack added pressure on Mayor Eric Adams. Adams was a former officer captain and made the issue of crime prevention and safety central to his presidential campaign.

Adams said that the worst thing is losing someone you love to a violent act. Adams stated that Adams had witnessed such pain in all of his professional career. Adams addressed a press conference Monday. “It’s my duty to protect New Yorkers.

“And that is what I desire. Thank God that I am the mayor of the city right now, and not others who don’t see the urgency of the moment.

Adams and Kathy Hochul, New York Governor, promised in February to intensify police patrols, and to provide mental health outreach, as a response to the spate of attacks against the metro system.

The subway system was the victim of one the worst attacks it has ever seen. On April 12, a man set off a smoke bomb, opened fire on a subway car and unleashed the violence. The attack resulted in 23 injuries, with 10 being injured by gunfire.

Frank James (62 years old) was taken into custody as a suspect in the attack. He was arrested earlier in the month on terrorism-related charges and other federal offenses.

Goldman Sachs’ Chief Executive Officer David Solomon, said Monday that Enriquez was the cause of his “devastation” and called it a “senseless tragic event.” Enriquez was a 2013 addition to the company’s Global Investment Research division.
