© Reuters U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.98%Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
The index gained 1.98% at the close of NYSE. It added 1.86% to the index, and the index climbed 1.59%.
The best performers of the session on the were JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:), which rose 6.19% or 7.26 points to trade at 124.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Visa Inc Late trade saw Class A (NYSE 🙂 gain 4.29%, or 8.53 points, to close at 207.56. Apple Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 gained 4.01% or 5.52 to 143.11.
Dow Inc (NYSE) fell 0.62 points or 0.91% to trade at 67.49 by the end of the session. Home Depot Inc (NYSE 🙂 fell 0.4% or 1.16 point to close at 286.03 while Honeywell International Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 dropped 0.09% (0.17 points) to 189.58.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Ross Stores Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 9.57% to 78.75, Deere & Company (NYSE:) which was up 7.04% to settle at 335.36 and Schlumberger NV (NYSE:) which gained 6.54% to close at 43.81.
Gap Inc (NYSE) was the worst performer, falling 5.49% and 10.33 in late trading. Autodesk Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 4.13% to settle in 183.51; Caesars Entertainment Corporation, (NASDAQ:), which dropped 3.71% to 48.25 by the end.
Catalyst Biosciences Inc, which increased 234.21% at 1.27 and GeoVax Labs Inc, which rose 66.91% at 2.32 were the top performers on the NASDAQ Composite. Lixiang Education Holding Co Ltd (NASDAQ 🙂 saw 58.00% increase to reach 3.16
Nymox Pharmaceutical Corp. (NASDAQ) was the worst performer, falling 63.85% – 0.46 in late trading. Inotiv Inc. (NASDAQ) lost 28.31% to settle for 13.14 Molecular Data Inc (NASDAQ:) The close was 22.40% lower at 0.88
On the New York Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2237, 896, and 133. 133 was unchanged.

The EUR/USD rose by 1.20% to 1.07 while the USD/JPY was up by 0.06% at 127.93.
