WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – President Joe Biden will issue Wednesday’s executive order directing federal agencies in the United States to review their use of force policies. This is as the United States commemorates the two year anniversary of George Floyd’s police shooting death. The Washington Post and other U.S media reported that this was done by Joe Biden.

Biden is expected to sign Wednesday’s order according to Washington Post. It will also create a nationwide registry of officer misconduct. Grants are used to encourage state- and local police forces to reduce restrictions on chokeholds.

Floyd, a Black man accused of passing counterfeit bills, was shot to death by Derek Chauvin (a Minneapolis officer). Chauvin, who is white, kneeling on Floyd’s neck while three others watched. It sparked a wave against racism.

After being convicted of murder, Chauvin was sentenced last year to 22-1/2 Years in Prison. Last week, one of three officers pleaded guilty to helping and aiding manslaughter during the May 25, 2020 incident.

According to The Washington Post, two people were briefed by the White House about the signing ceremony. It will take place at 4 pm on Wednesday, 2000 GMT.

A request to comment was not received by the White House immediately.
