LONDON (Reuters] – On Tuesday Shell (LON 🙂 held its annual general meeting (AGM), and a few climate protestors disrupted it. The demonstrators chanted slogans, carried banners, as Shell Chair Andrew Mckenzie attempted to begin the meeting.

Shell will ask shareholders for their votes on a resolution to support its climate strategy. It also plans to reject an activist resolution to climate change, which received 30% of the votes last year at its AGM.

Mackenzie responded, “I regret this deeply,” following about 30 minutes of continuous chantings like “we’ll stop you” or “Shell must drop” that delayed the beginning of proceedings.

He assured protestors they would be removed for causing disruptions.
