WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Jen Psaki is joining MSNBC’s cable channel and streaming services in the fall. She was previously White House Press Secretary.

Rashida Jones, President of MSNBC, said that Psaki was the White House communications director during Barack Obama’s time. She will appear as part of special election programming on NBC for the November congressional elections and for 2024 Presidential election.

“Jen’s sharp wit and relatability combined with the mastery of the subjects she covers have made her a household name across the nation,” Jones said.

Psaki (43), resumed daily White House press briefings, after which the tradition had been abandoned by President Donald Trump’s administration.

Trump, who is a Republican had a contentious relationship to news media organisations, which he described as an “enemy” of the people. Trump’s 2021 departure from office meant that White House briefings were becoming irregular. After eight months of not holding regular briefings, Stephanie Grisham was Trump’s penultimate press secretary.
