Uniswap will soon be on the chain after a successful governance proposal to use the Moonbeam and Gnosis decentralized exchanges.

Polkadot Launches Governance proposal

Voting began on May 12th within the Uniswap Community regarding a Governance proposal for Uniswap Version 3 deployment on Gnosis, Moonbeam and a Polkadot parachain supporting DeFi Applications.

The Moonbeam deployment proposal received 50,690.718 votes to favor it and 3,078 for, while Gnosis’ proposal to deploy Uniswap to Moonbeam garnered 46,069.208 votes to favor it and 3,078 to derail.

Uniswap launches on Gnosis, Moonbeam

With more than 99.99% support for both of their proposals, Uniswap Labs made Monday, May 23, the announcement that both Moonbeam (and Gnosis) would become the launch platforms for the decentralized exchange.

This will allow Uniswap to support two additional chains, in addition its existing integrations of Optimism and Polygon. The endorsement could lead to Uniswap becoming the third-largest DeFi platform with $7 billion of total value (TVL) at this time.
