Sri Lanka hikes fuel prices, encourages people to work from home -Breaking

COLOMBO, (Reuters) – Sri Lanka raised petrol prices by 20-24% and diesel prices by 35%-38% on Tuesday. Kanchana Wijesekera, the Power and Energy Minister said.

Wijesekera posted a Twitter message (NYSE: ) stating that the government will raise transport costs and other charges in line with inflation. He said that it would be encouraged for people to work from home to reduce fuel consumption and manage the crisis.
