BEIJING, (Reuters) – China’s Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that a U.S.-backed Economic Plan for Asia seeks decoupling countries from China’s economy. However many countries worry about the “huge price” involved in doing this.

At a press conference, Wang Wenbin, a ministry spokesperson said that the Indo Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity is in U.S. interest and excludes other countries.

This plan was launched by Joe Biden, the U.S. president. Australia, Brunei Indonesia, Japan and New Zealand are among the first founding nations.
