Dick’s Tumbles in Premarket; Nordstrom, Wendy’s Rise -Breaking

- Dick’s Sporting GoodsThe stock of (DKSS) fell 12.2% following the release by DKS of weaker than expected full-year guidance. The quarter ended with better than anticipated figures, and comparable sales fell less than expected.
- Wendy’s (NASDAQ:) stock rose 9% after a filing from Nelson Peltz’s Trian company suggested that Peltz, who has been the burger chain’s largest shareholder for several years already, is looking at a takeover. Since the beginning of the year, the stock lost one third of its value.
- JW NordstromThe stock of (NYSE:) rose 5.3% following an upgrade to its profit forecasts and full-year sales forecasts. This was after comparable sales in the quarter were well above those pre-pandemic. However, it posted a larger-than-expected quarter-end loss.
- Lyft After plunging Tuesday, the stock fell another 0.2% in response to rumors it is also looking at cutting costs because of rising inflation and an impending economic slowdown.
- ExpressThe stock of (NYSE:) rose 11.8% following a smaller loss than expected by analysts. This also marginally improved the outlook for full-year. The stock remains down around 2/3rds over last year.
- Ituit The stock of (NASDAQ) rose 2.5% in premarket trades after software company Beats Expectations with quarterly results. The recent acquisition of direct marketing firm Mailchimp also helped it to upgrade its forecast for the current quarter.
- Pfizer (NYSE) Stock fell 0.5% after the company stated that its branded medicines would be available at no cost to low-income countries. The move was made to shield itself from criticisms regarding its pricing policy for, among others, its Covid-19 vaccine or antiviral drug.
