WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has won the Republican nomination for reelection, Edison Research predicted on Tuesday. This was despite a challenge from former U.S. President Donald Trump. Donald Trump supported Senator David Perdue.
After Kemp refused to reverse the result of Georgia’s 2020 elections, which saw Georgia vote for President Joe Biden, the former president supported Perdue. On Nov. 8, Kemp will be facing Stacey Abrams.
