(Reuters] – Family members of a Texas teacher in fourth grade have revealed that their husband died this week from a heart attack.

Joe Garcia was in preparation for Irma Garcia’s funeral, which he had planned to attend, but he suddenly collapsed, and died Thursday morning, as reported by the newspaper.

According to the report, they leave four children behind.

Irma Garcia, 46, was killed along with 19 other children at Robb Elementary school in Uvalde. Authorities informed relatives that Eva Mireles, Eva Garcia’s co-teacher, and Irma Garcia were killed trying to save their students.

NBC News covered the funeral of Joe Garcia, citing Christian Garcia’s son and John Martinez’s nephew.

“EXTREMELY heartbreaking and come with deep sorrow to say that my Tia Irma’s husband Joe Garcia has passed away due to grief, i (sic) truly am at a loss for words for how we are all feeling,” wrote Martinez on his Twitter (NYSE:) account, using the Spanish word for “aunt” and requesting prayers for the family.

It’s not easy, God has mercy on us.

Martinez stated that Joe Garcia was killed after returning home to deliver flowers for Irma Garcia’s memorial.
