Trump must answer questions under oath in New York AG, appeals court says

On Thursday, an appeals court rejected the bid of former President Donald TrumpHe and his two adult children were able to ignore being asked questions by New York Attorney general Letitia James in connection to her civil investigation into Trump Organization’s business practices.

Trump suffered another legal blow in trying to stop James’ probe into his investigation of allegations that Trump Organization had illegally altered the valuations of various real estate assets for financial gain.

Trump and Donald Trump Jr. must also comply with a subpoena from James, seeking their testimony. This ruling was made by the Appellate division of the First Judicial Department of Manhattan Supreme Court.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump run the Trump family business. Ivanka Trump was a senior White House adviser during the presidency of her father. She is also a former executive at Trump Organization.

James stated in a statement about the appeals court’s ruling that Donald Trump had to comply “once again” with the lawful investigation of his financial transactions.

The attorney general stated that he would continue to investigate the case in order to ensure no one evades the law.
