(Reuters) – On Thursday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration revealed that they have expanded their collaboration with Danone’s Nutricia company to provide more specialized medical formula bottles for babies with critical or severe allergies.

A health regulator stated that Danone will send 5 million more cans to the United States.

On Wednesday, legislators grilled agency representatives over a lackluster response to concerns about potential baby formula contamination at the now closed facility. Abbott Laboratories Plant that caused severe shortages in the United States

According to Christopher Calamari (president of Abbott U.S. Nutrition), Abbott controlled 40% market share before the closing of the plant. The plant also produced 40% of Abbott’s products.
