Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The rose was 1.08% at the Sydney close.

These were the best performers of the session Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX) climbed 16.40%, or 0.41 point to close at 2.91. Tabcorp Holdings Ltd. (ASX:), which gained 4.66% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.91. Credit Corp Group Ltd (ASX) traded up 4.19%, or 0.93 points, to 23.10 late trade.

They were also the session’s worst performers Appen Ltd (ASX:), fell 20.92% (1.73 points) to close at 6.54 Resolute Mining Ltd. (ASX 🙂 lost 5.17% (or 0.02 points) to finish at 0.28. CSR Ltd. was also down, displaying a drop of 4.69% (or 0.23 points) to 4.67.

The Sydney Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining stocks by 770, 605 and 427 respectively.

CSR Ltd. shares (ASX) plunged to 52 week lows.

For June delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.38% to $1854.65 or 7.05 a troy an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil unchanged for July delivery at $114.09/barrel, and August Brent oil contracts rose 0.17 or 0.19 respectively to trade at $114.36/barrel.

While AUD/USD was steady at 0.71, AUD/JPY increased 0.51% and reached 90.70.
