Costco (NASDAQ:) isn’t raising the price of its hotdog combo. Officials from Costco said that the cost of the meal, which comes with a drink as well as the famous sausage, will stay at $1.50

Twitter has been abuzz with rumors about an increase in the price of hotdogs and similar stories. This is despite consumers continuing to worry about inflation and rising food costs.

Since its conception, Costco offers the $1.50 combination. It has been a hallmark of quality for wholesale members.

Let me say that the cost of the hot dog/soda combination was $1.50 when it first came out in mid-80. Robert Nelson, Costco’s Head of Investor Relations said that today’s price is $1.50. We have no plans for increasing the price.

Confirmation that the rumor isn’t true will be a relief for Costco members. The U.S. government’s chief inflation-fighter, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, is also likely breathing a sigh of relief.

Ending the $1.50 Costco hotdog combo would have been a symbolic causality, a lost battle in the Fed’s ongoing war on inflation. The line is holding for now.
