Airline easyJet cancels more than 200 flights -Breaking
LONDON, Reuters – EasyJet (LON) will cancel over 200 flights in the coming 10 days because of delays at airports. This is due to disruptions during school holidays.
Since the lifting of COVID restrictions, Europe’s airlines have been plagued by numerous problems. Many British airports struggle to hire enough staff. EasyJet also has IT issues.
Six seats were removed from an A319 airplane in order to decrease the number of crew members.
The statement said it will cancel 24 flights daily from London Gatwick Airport, between May 28th and June 6. A technical problem forced it to cancel approximately 200 flights on Thursday.
The airline said that while we are sorry about the delay in notifying customers of certain cancellations, and for any inconvenience this may have caused to their bookings on these flights, it believes this was necessary in order for reliable service during busy periods.
Customers are informed immediately and given the opportunity to cancel their flights or request a refund.
