Qatar central bank governor expects GDP growth of 3.5% in 2022 -Breaking

DOHA, (Reuters) – Qatar’s gross domestic product (GDP ) should rise 3.5% by 2022 according to Sheikh Bandar bin Muhammad bin Saoud Al Asani (Central Bank Governor), at a Doha conference.

He added that energy-rich Gulf Emirates plans to soon license financial technology firms.

Fitch Ratings projected that Qatar’s GDP growth would be 3.2% by 2022 from 1.6% in 2020. The increase in output due to the FIFA World Cup Qatar is hosting in December and November, as well as the recovery from the pandemic.
