Political leaders are traditionally motivated to encourage job creation in an effort to put the nation back to work, and also to boost the economy. From the job creation programs of the Great Depression to United States President Barack Obama’s American Jobs Act, employment schemes have a long, checkered history. Policymakers still love to foster meaningful employment, but it is not likely that the next big job creation program will be issued in a top-down fashion.
