PARIS (Reuters), – On Sunday, the Mona Lisa was shaken by a tourist to the Louvre who tried to break the glass that protects the painting’s world-famous masterpiece before spreading cream on its surface as a climate publicity stunt.

Before attacking the glass, the perpetrator disguised himself as an old woman and jumped from a wheelchair.

“Maybe this just seems nuts to me …,”,” said the author. The video shows the Louvre staffer washing the glass. After smearing cake all over the glass and throwing roses around, he was finally stopped by security.

Unfortunately, the Louvre is not currently available for comment.

A second video was posted to social media and showed another staff member cleaning out the pane, while an attendant removed a wheelchair from the Da Vinci masterpiece.

In French, the man dressed in a wig and saying “Think of Earth”, said the man as he was led out from Paris with the wheelchair. It is likely that the incident had been motivated by environmentalists.
