REUTERS/Shannon Stapleton(Reuters) – The National Rifle Association Board reappointed Wayne LaPierre on Monday as Executive Vice President. This avenges the most recent leadership crisis amid allegations of corruption and flat membership.
This was just as the NRA’s annual meeting took place in Houston. Houston is approximately 280-miles (450km) away from the scene of Tuesday’s mass shooting, where an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle-wielding 18-year old killed 19 schoolchildren and two teachers at an elementary school in Texas.
